The Department of Economics at the College of Charleston invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position for the 2025–2026 academic year, with the possibility of renewal. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Economics (or related field by time of appointment), a strong record of undergraduate teaching, and a commitment to student mentorship and interdisciplinary engagement.
The position includes a 4-4 teaching load with courses such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and upper-level electives. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in departmental activities and mentor students.
We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the Center for Public Choice & Market Process and potentially serve as its Assistant Director. Responsibilities include helping define strategic priorities, organizing programs, mentoring students, and supporting research and public outreach aligned with the Center’s mission.
