Full Text of JOE Listing:

foundry10 is looking for applicants with a Ph.D. in economics and who have a strong interest in the education sector and desire to improve student outcomes. Applicants should have deep expertise in an appropriate research methodology (within applied microeconomics), bring novel ideas and expertise, experience-based insights, advanced research skills (e.g. data analysis techniques, knowledge of study design, visualizing and interpreting data) and be comfortable with sharing research using different mediums alongside peer-reviewed publications. This role involves both independent research and analysis as well as a multidisciplinary collaboration across our organization and in partnership with external institutions.

In particular, we are interested in the relationship between traditional education's pathways for success and the job market outcomes accessible to graduating students. To what extent do standard educational approaches and success metrics align with success beyond educational institutions? To what extent do these approaches meet the needs of all students compared to more individualized approaches? A Labor Economist can help us to meaningfully capture the long-term impact that education has and uncover educational pathways that are likely to have the most positive long-term outcomes.
