Full Text of JOE Listing:
CDC established the 2-year Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Fellowship to address ongoing public health demand for rigorous health economics-based inquiry through the recruitment, internal placement, and professional development of public health economists. Prevention effectiveness and public health economics assess the impact of public health policies, programs, and practices on health outcomes by determining efficacy, effectiveness, and efficiency using economic, econometric, decision, analytic, and program and policy evaluation methods.
CDC is recruiting fellows for 2026. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in economics, health services research, health policy or policy analysis, public policy, or related quantitatively oriented fields. Fellows are matched with programs across CDC.
All doctoral degree requirements must be completed by 7/17/2026. The starting annual salary is approximately $98,000 plus federal benefits.
