Full Text of JOE Listing:
Lead teams of researchers to deliver research on policy-relevant issues of strategic interest to ADB and its developing members. Contribute to the publication, prepare analysis to support decision making by ADB and its member governments, and provide technical support to ADB operations. If reassigned to an operations department, you'll lead project economic analysis, analytical and data-related work, sector diagnostics, and advice on the development impact of programs and operations.
Undertake applied and policy-relevant research on issues in development, macroeconomics, microeconomics, or international economics, focusing on empirical studies on the department's research priorities, which include economic integration; poverty and inequality; digital economy; macro and financial stability; climate change and sustainable development; and skills and the future of work.
Lead or contribute to the design and implementation of research and publications, including ADB's flagship publications, thematic reports, policy briefs, working papers, and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Coordinate the internal review and provide substantive advice and comments on the economic rationale and quality of economic analysis in ADB's country strategies and programs; contribute to sector-specific policy and related documents.
Lead or participate in preparing ADB flagship publications and other projects.
Lead or collaborate in the delivery of training programs for staff and government officials.
Manage the design, implementation, and administration of technical assistance projects for DMCs on empirically rigorous policy analysis across a broad range of areas.
Contribute substantially to the dissemination of knowledge outputs and publications.
Support the capacity building work of ERDI by undertaking collaborative research, dissemination, networking, and capacity building activities with specialists across a global network of knowledge institutions and with other ADB knowledge and operations departments.
Lead and contribute to relevant internal and external training and conferences, and other activities for advocacy, dissemination, and knowledge building.
Provide leadership and support to reporting staff and ensure the quality of their work.
Manage the performance of teams and individuals, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance, and ensuring their ongoing learning and development.
Qualifications
PhD in Economics or related fields, with a background in empirical analysis and policy-focused research.
Minimum 10years of relevant professional experience is required at the senior level.
Demonstrated experience conducting independent research, including international experience working in several countries.
Evidence of high-quality research output and a record of publications in international peer-reviewed professional journals.
Technical knowledge, analytical, and conceptual skills in economics.
Understanding of ADB or multilateral development bank's institutional context, strategies, priorities, and objectives.
