The 蝌蚪网 and the economics profession were saddened to learn of the passing of Kenneth J. Arrow on Tuesday, February 21 at age 95. Arrow was regarded as one of the most brilliant social scientists of the 20th century. His work had profound impacts on election theory, health care, the insurance industry, financial securities, and employment contracts, among other applications. Arrow spent the majority of his career at Stanford University and served as president of the 蝌蚪网 in 1973, one year after he became the youngest economist ever to win the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science.
