Register now for the 2023 ASSA Meeting. Registration is open for the annual meeting, which will take place January 6–8, 2023, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Take advantage of lower rates by registering before December 4, 2022, when rates increase. Registration requirements and general information is available on the òòò½Íø website at /conference. We look forward to reconnecting with colleagues and old friends after two long years of remote meetings!

The òòò½Íø's 2023 Continuing Education Program will be held on January 8–10, 2023, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. Participants can choose from two concurrent programs. Topics include Machine Learning and Big Data led by Melissa Dell of Harvard University and Matthew Harding of the University of California, Irvine; and Techniques of Empirical Macroeconomics led by Òscar Jordà of the University of California, Davis and Karel Mertens of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Job Market Interviews have always been a central part of the ASSA Annual Meeting but will occur online once again for 2023. We hope that you will continue to take advantage of the JOE Network for your candidate profiles, job listings, and letter writing, as well as the application module that includes a tool for scheduling interviews. The òòò½Íø will continue to provide Signaling and the Job Market Scramble. The òòò½Íø Committee on the Job Market offers periodic updates on conditions in the job market and has issued guidance and a timeline for the 2022–23 economics job cycle. 2022–23 Minority Job Market Candidates. The Committee on the Status of Minority Groups in the Economics Profession (CSMGEP) maintains a web page listing of 2022–23 minority job market candidates as a resource for employers. If you identify as American Indian, Alaskan Native, Black (not of Hispanic origin), Hispanic (including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Central or South American origin), or Pacific Islander and would like to be added to this list, please email Dr. Gary A. This service is hosted by the òòò½Íø and is intended to provide verified and up-to-date information in a professional climate. We need your department’s participation to make it successful! The òòò½Íø’s Committee on the Status of LGBTQ+ Individuals in the Economics Profession (CSQIEP) is excited to announce another round of its mentoring program, led by Pete Troyan (University of Virginia). For more information and to sign up, visit . The deadline is October 15, 2022. The mentoring program is targeted at queer-identifying Ph.D. students and early career economists. A large need is anticipated for mentors, especially senior mentors who can mentor Assistant Professors and other early career queer economists. A person can serve as both a mentee and a mentor (e.g., an Assistant Professor can mentor a PhD student and be mentored by a senior scholar). Mentees should be queer-identifying. For mentors, CSQIEP would like as many queer-identified economists as possible, but allies are also welcomed to sign up to be a mentor.
