òòò½Íø Officer Election Results. The òòò½Íø is pleased to announce the results from the 2019 Election for Officers of the òòò½Íø for 2020: David Card (president-elect), Janice Eberly and Olivia S. Mitchell (vice-presidents), Lisa Cook and Melissa S. Kearney (members). For more information, visit /about-aea/leadership/election-winners.

The proposed Bylaw amendments have been approved by a wide majority of the members who voted in the election. For details, see here. The bylaws as amended are effective immediately, and can be read in their entirety at /resources/member-docs/certificate-of-incorporation-bylaws.

The òòò½Íø's 2020 Continuing Education Program will be held at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter on January 5 – 7, 2020, immediately following the close of the ASSA meeting. Participants can choose from three concurrent programs. Topics and speakers will include Mastering Mostly Harmless Econometrics – Alberto Abadie (MIT), Joshua Angrist (MIT), and Christopher Walters (University of California, Berkeley); Monetary Policy – Gauti B. Eggertsson (Brown University) and Jon Steinsson (University of California, Berkeley); and Climate Change Economics – Lint Barrage (University of California, Santa Barbara), Michael Greenstone (University of Chicago), and Gilbert E. The òòò½Íø Ombudsperson is available and ready to assist our members. The òòò½Íø has engaged Leto Copeley to serve in this critical role. As an attorney, Ms. Copeley will maintain the information received with the utmost confidentiality possible. The goal is for the ombudsperson to be a resource for addressing issues of harassment and discrimination throughout the profession. Any òòò½Íø member is eligible to consult with the ombudsperson on matters involving harassment or discrimination in a professional context.  Ms. Copeley will also be onsite at the upcoming annual meeting in San Diego to meet and consult with members. For more information, visit /about-aea/aea-ombudsperson.
