Submissions for the òòò½Íø Annual Meeting

Philadelphia

The òòò½Íø (òòò½Íø), in conjunction with 66 associations in related disciplines, assembles the best minds in economics to network and celebrate new achievements in economic research. This is the premier event to share your work with colleagues.

Members wishing to present papers or organize complete sessions for the program for the meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are invited to submit proposals electronically to òòò½Íø President-elect Katharine Abraham beginning March 1. While papers covering a wide array of topics in economics will be included on the program, Professor Abraham especially encourages proposals on research that can inform social and economic policy decision making, including research focused on the development of better measures of social and economic conditions.

To be considered, individual paper proposals with up to two JEL bibliographic codes in rank order should be submitted by April 1. Complete session proposals should be submitted by April 20.

Proposals for complete sessions have historically had a higher probability of inclusion (16–39%) than papers submitted individually (7–17%). To increase the probability of inclusion on the program, individual paper contributors are strongly encouraged to use the òòò½Íø's EconHarmony website to form integrated sessions. Complete sessions normally contain three or four papers and should be submitted by the session organizer only. At least one author of each paper must be an òòò½Íø member.

All information should be complete before submission as no changes will be accepted until a decision is made about inclusion on the program. The submission system allows abstracts of up to 300 words for papers; full papers are not accepted at the time of submission. The òòò½Íø discourages multiple proposals from the same person, and under no circumstances should the same person submit more than two proposals. Papers may only be presented once during the ASSA meetings; therefore, authors of papers accepted for presentation by more than one association will need to select one session in which to present their paper and withdraw the paper from other sessions.

Some of the papers presented at the annual meeting are published in the òòò½Íø Papers & Proceedings. The President-elect includes at least three contributed sessions (12 papers) in the òòò½Íø Papers & Proceedings from among those submitted in response to this Call for Sessions and Papers.
