is an Associate Research Scientist in the Human Cooperation Lab at Yale University. He sat down with the 蝌蚪网 to discuss why people cooperate, whether they are honest, and how people should respond to "cheap talk." 

I鈥檓 just a soul whose intentions are good

Our results suggest that cheap talk communication, which is a common feature of daily life, can promote cooperation in repeated games, but only when there is already a self- interested motivation to cooperate.
